It is always enticing to watch movies that portray our Indian culture and show us more about our history. Well, for me, it does. Plus, it is even more fascinating when the characters are chosen rightly for each role. Just like in recent movies like N.T Rama Rao in RRR , Ajay Devgn in Tanhaji , and Sharad Kelkar in Har Har Mahadev .
Bajirao Mastaani – The Storyline The movie is about the famous Maratha empire, and the time when the empire needed its new Peshwa, most of the people there nominated Bajirao for the post and it was indeed the right decision. Later Bajirao travels to Bundelkhand as the emperor there requests Bajirao for their help. There he meets Mastaani, who is the daughter of the Rajput king and Persian Muslim Begum.
He feels kind of attracted to her and for some reason gives her his sword with no idea of the fact that in their religion, when a guy gives a girl his sword, it is declared that they are both married now. Plus, Bajirao is already married to Kashibai. Mastaani leaves her house and travels to Pune where Bajirao’s mother is against the fact that Bajirao has another wife and that too of a whole other religion. Bajirao reminds her that he is already married and can never be fully hers and the court imposes some conditions on her to which she agrees. Now, what’s there to see is how are they going to manage this marriage and what are going to be the consequences of it.
