It’s 8:00 am in the morning and your summer vacation is going on. You switch on the television and start watching your favourite cartoon. Feels nostalgic after reading this line? Yes, I can feel it too. Childhood days were the best days where we didn’t have any mobile phones, laptops or career tensions too. But look at us now missing those happy moments when we wished to grow up as soon as possible. But that’s okay we don’t have a time machine like Doreamon or we cannot invent one like Kiteretsu. The only solution is watching our old favourite cartoons on a weekend maybe?
So, here I have made a list of some best cartoons. Not top 10 cartoons, not 20 but best 23 cartoons! Choose what you want to watch and capture all the old memories.
Oswald
Oswald is the story of a Blue Octopus who is safety conscious but he loves to have fun. Oswald lives in an apartment with his dog named Weenie. Weenie looks like a hotdog. Other than that they have cute neighbours like Henry a penguin, Daisy a flower and more.
Most of us have watched Oswald in our childhood. According to me this show was peaceful and adorable. Talking about this show is nostalgic. The show was aired on 20th August 2001. You can also watch the dubbed episodes of Oswalds.
Horrid Henry aka Bas Karo Henry
Horrid Henry is an animated series about a prankster boy. Henry even thinks that everyone is against him. Henry is not rude but he is very straightforward that people mistakens him as a rude boy. In most of the stories, Henry irritates her mom and never learns from his mistakes.
Horrid Henry was released in 2006. Most of the kids haven’t seen this but lemme tell you watching this cartoon is worth it. The dubbed episodes are available on Youtube.
Thomas The Tank Engine and Friends
Thomas and Friends is also known as Thomas The Tank Engine is based on railway engines that live on the island of Sodor. Every engine has its own characteristics and they all face so many adventures in their daily life.
According to the viewers, Thomas and The friends was the best pre- school cartoon. Remember waking up in the morning and watching Thomas and Friends? Those were the best days. The first episode was in 1984.

Henry: The rain will spoil my lovely green paint and red stripes.
Chhota Bheem
Chhota Bheem is a story about a helpful and clever boy who lives in Dholakpur with his family and friends. Most of the people love Bheem including the emperor of Dholakpur and his daughter. In each episode Bheem faces many problems and adventures with his friends: Chutki, Raju, Jaggu and more. The protagonist has so many enemies including Kichak and some kidnappers who keep causing problems to bheem and his friends.
Chhota Bheem is one of the best cartoons in India. The show was aired in 2008. Also, the cartoon is famous among the young generation as it gives good morals. Besides the daily episodes there are many movies which were telecasted like: Chhota Bheem And The Throne Of Bali , Chhota Bheem Master Of Shaolin , The Rise Of Kirmada and more.
Winnie The Pooh
Winnie the Pooh is the collection of children’s stories by A.A Milne which was published in 1926. Winnie The Pooh is a yellow bear who is kind and loving. He lives in a forest and loves eating honey. Besides that, Pooh has friends like Piglet, Rabbit, Owl and Donkey and his tree house is stuffed with the jars of honey.
Winnie the Pooh is one of my favourite cartoons because Pooh words are just like a hug sometimes.

Tom and Jerry
And here comes the “JEM”. We all grew up watching Tom and Jerry. Some people say that Tom and Jerry is overhyped or overrated but in my opinion, this is the best cartoon which depicts friendship, anger, revenge and more in an amusing way.
Tom and Jerry are rivals who fight with each other everyday. They both have different techniques to defeat each other. Tom and Jerry sometimes team up if someone else tries to irritate them. Following the cartoon, Tom and Jerry have many movies together like: Tom and Jerry: The Movie, Tom and Jerry Cowboy Up! And more.
This cartoon show has received so many awards like: Academy Award For Best Animated Film, Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards For Outstanding Music Direction And Composition

Ben 10
A boy named Ben Tennyson was on a family vacation, where he discovers a perplexing device, the Omnitrix. The device sticks itself to his wrist and helps him to convert into ten different types of alien with unique powers. In each episode the trio fights with different evils and supernatural beings.
Ben 10 was my favourite superhero in childhood. I even bought a watch which used to look like an Omnitrix. The first episode of Ben 10 was released on 15 April 2008.

Kiteretsu
Kiteretsu also known as Kiteretsu Daihyakka is a cartoon about a boy who is extraordinarily intelligent who invents different machines. His best invention is Kurosuke. Kurosuke is a robot who speaks, eats and can feel emotions like human beings. Kiteretsu is a descendant of a great inventor known as D. Kiteretsu. Other than that, he has friends like Tongari and Butagorira who sometimes bully him and a love interest named Miyoko.
Kiteretsu Large Encyclopaedia is a Japanese manga which was later made into an anime series. The cartoon was telecasted on 27 March 1988. It is also believed that Kiteretsu is Nobita’s smarter cousin. Later the anime was dubbed in different languages.

Perman
Perman is about a boy named Mitsuo Suwa who meets an alien one day. That alien orders Mitsuo to become a perman so that he can protect the world. But after that, the alien tells him that if he tells his identity to someone then his brain will explode. Furthermore, his friends ‘Bobby the monkey’ and ‘Perko’ , his friend, and others join him in order to save the world.
Perman is a Japanese manga series which is written and illustrated by Hiroshi Fujomoto and Motoo Abiko. The series was later dubbed in different languages and in India the show is telecasted on ‘Hungama’.

Powerpuff Girls
The show is about three girls Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup who are very young, pre- school age girls who have superpowers. The girls live in Townsville with their father and a scientist. The girls save their town from all the evil energy, villains, robbers and aliens while coping up with their own life issues like arguments between siblings, personal hygiene and more.
Powerpuff girls are the most adorable yet lovable girls. This show got so much love from the audience, especially the younger ones. These girls have their own signature colours. The first episode was released on 18 November, 1998.

Phineas And Ferb
Phineas and Ferb are step brothers who invent random things during their summer break. This annoys their older sister Candace. Their sister always tries to reveal their inventions in front of their mother. Phineas and Ferb also have a pet platypus “Perry” who is a secret agent. This cartoon basically focuses on ‘Agent P’ who always defeats an insane scientist known as Dr.Doofenshmirtz who wants to destroy the world from evil. Besides that, Phineas and Ferb have so many friends like Buford, Baljeet and a girl named Isabella who has a crush on Phineas.
Phineas and Ferb starred on Disney channel from February 01, 2008 to June 12, 2015.

Shinchan
Here comes our favourite boy! The one who annoys his parents, teachers and Kazama. Hahah! I love when Shinchan annoys Kazama. This 5 year old boy is enough to make anyone laugh.
Shinchan resides in Kasukabe, with his parents, sister, dog and some friends. The cartoon depicts his life as a 5 year old mischievous boy who is kind, lovable, adorable while being naughty and a prankster. He loves women who are older than him like his love interest Naneko! Many people criticise this show because Shinchan is portrayed as a stubborn boy.
Shinchan was dubbed in more than 25 languages. It was first aired in 1992 on TV Asahi.

Doraemon
Smartest Racoon in the world. Oh! I mean the smartest cat who is from the 22nd century. Doraemon is sent by Nobita’s descendants so that he can take care of Nobita. But who is Nobita and why does he need so much care? Nobita Nobi is a 10 year old boy who is unlucky, weak in studies and everyone bullies him. But on the other side he is very kind and lovable. He loves to spend time with his crush Shizuka.
Doraemon is a cat who has so many gadgets which help Nobita and sometimes create problems in his life. This is a show which was adapted from a manga. It won numerous awards too.

Mickey Mouse
Mickey Mouse was created by Walt Disney in 1928. Remember we used to clap our hands when Mickey used to say If you are happy and you know it clap your hands? Those were the best mornings! Mickey Mouse lives in a clubhouse with his girlfriend Minnie Mouse, pet dog Pluto and his other friends like Donald Duck and Goofy.

Mr. Bean: The Animated Series
Mr.Bean is the main protagonist of the show who has a best friend “Teddy”. Mr. Bean treats Teddy as a human being. This show is based on a British Live Drama known as Mr. Bean only. I think we all have watched Mr. Bean once in our lifetime. No? Though I like the original one. In 2001 the series was officially announced.
Handy Manny
Manny, a boy, lives in a fictional town known as Sheetrock Hills, where he owns a shop and his tools live with him. The main thing is that all the tools are humanlike. They all visit many places near their neighbourhood to repair things.
The show was aired in September 2006. I still remember that I was around 10 years old and I used to specially wake up at 8:00am to watch this show. This is the most underrated show. So yea you better watch it!

Ninja Hattori
Ninja Hattori manga is written by the Fujiko Fujio duo, and later the animated episodes were featured on Asahi TV. Kenichi Mitsuba is a 10 year old boy who is like Nobita. Yes! He is lazy and weak in his studies. One day, Kanzo Hattori meets Kenichi and they end up becoming best friends and then Hattori with his brother Shinzo and dog Shishimaru helps Kenichi to cope up with his problems.
But Hattori has a rival whose name is “Kemumaki” who always annoys Kenichi and his friends. The manga version has a total of 4 volumes.
Recess
Recess depicts a life of 6 fourth graders and their interaction with other students and school teachers. Basically the show is about the liberty of an individual. The show premiered in 1997. In 2001, Walt Disney released movies based on the show.

Courage The Cowardly Dog
Courage the cowardly dog is a puppy who was abandoned. After that Muriel Bagge a scottish woman adopts him but her crazy husband Eustace Bagge hates courage and often calls him a ‘stupid dog’. In each episode of the cartoon, the trio face some villains, monsters and some paranormal activities in their house. Courage the cowardly dog is kind but he gets afraid easily because of separation anxiety he had from childhood when his parents were sent to space by a mad veterinarian.
Courage the cowardly dog was a dark series which was later stopped streaming as many people criticised it for being dark and inappropriate for the young minds. But some people still love this show. The cartoon won Annie Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement for Production Design in an Animated Television Production and Golden Reels Award.

SpongeBob SquarePants
This series is about a sponge who lives in the Pacific Ocean and is a chef at Krusty Krab where he cooks the best burger . He lives in the sea with his best friend Squidward and others like Patrick, Squidward, Gary and more. SpongeBob has a very positive attitude towards life and is so amusing.
Spongebob won so many awards like: Eight Golden Reel Awards, Two BAFTA Children’s awards and more. Besides that, there are many movies which a SpongeBob fan can watch, like: The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out Of Water and The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge On The Run.

Johnny Bravo
The main protagonist of the series is a muscular and very handsome man who wears glasses and is narcissistic . Johnny lives with his mother Carl Chryniszzswics who loves him so much. Johnny always tries to date girls but in the end he gets in trouble. The cartoon was aired in 1997. Even today, kids love this show so much. The astonishing cartoon was nominated for four Annie awards, one Youngstar Award and two Golden Reel Awards.
Kochikame
Oh My God! How can I forget this? Have you ever seen Kochikame? It is also a manga series which was later adapted as anime. In 2016, it became the eight highest selling manga series. Kankichi “Ryo-san” Ryotsu invents a gadget and comes up with a plan for a money- making scheme. He is a very greedy person but also a soft hearted person from inside. This show portrays the life of Kankichi, his fellow mates who work at a police station and other people.
It is a Japanese comedy manga series which was written and illustrated by Osamu Akimoto.
Looney Tunes
Looney Tunes is an american series which is produced by Warner Bros. The cartoon has many characters like: Tweety, Sylvester, Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny. The show revolves around the adventures of these creatures.
The show was directed by Chuck Jones, Friz Freleng, Tex Avery, Bob Clampet and more. Just like other best shows, Looney Tunes was nominated for many awards and it also won some of them.
