DAMaN – The Storyline The movie starts with a young doctor, Siddharth who just finished his MBBS. As per the guidelines of the government of Odisha, every student who completes their studies in medicine has to spend 5 years practicing in a rural area. And hence, Siddharth is sent to a rural area for work without his will.
Soon when Siddharth was about to resign and run away, a villager comes for his daughter’s treatment saying that it was DUMA, the village ghost, but when she was diagnosed, it was found to be Malaria.
He then finds out that the people in that village believe that this isn’t something that can be treated in the hospital and they try to treat it with exorcism. This makes Siddharth stay in the village and makes him relentless to prove to the villagers that this is just a disease and can be cured by proper treatment. But this somehow becomes harsher and harsher for him as the villagers are quite stubborn too. Now what’s there to see is how Siddharth is going to make the villagers believe and how this turns out.
