Storyline This comedy-drama starts with Karam, a small-town guy who has a knack for voice modulation and can talk brilliantly in the voice of a woman. But he has a father who is drenched in debt from head to toe. Now, Karam is doing his bit to clear all the debt, but nothing helps. He has a love interest named Pari, a rich girl with a strict father.
Now, Pari’s father wants Karam to earn a particular amount in order to marry her. This is when Karam decides to pose as Pooja, a girl with a tempting voice and starts befooling men, taking us on a roller-coaster ride of comedy and chaos.
Acting & Performances Speaking of the acting and performances, Ayushmann Khurrana has given his best, just as in the previous part. Not only does he look sensuous and gorgeous when dressed as Pooja, but his body language, voice, and even eyes echo femininity. Ananya has done a decent job; however, she gets limited screen time. Annu Kapoor and Paresh Rawal are, as usual, funny and convincing. Furthermore, Manjot Singh plays his part well and shines throughout the movie.
Manoj Joshi has given an average performance, and his lisp looks unwanted. Vijay Raaz has not been his funniest self, and neither has Abhishek Banerjee. Anusha Mishra goes unnoticed. But Asrani is on fire as Dadaji. Seema Pahwa has done a great job. Sudesh Lehri’s character is not needed in the movie. Ranjan Raj and Sapna Sand have definitely raised the bar with their unforgettable performances.
Screenplay Naresh Kathooria and Raaj Shaandilyaa form a simple story that a common man can relate to. The franchise of Dream Girl is supposed to talk about several social and mental issues, and the screenplay goes well with the motive of the movie.
It wraps the satire and messages in a quilt of comedy and fun. Some scenes are rib-tickling and well-executed. The ideas are very clearly presented in a clean screenplay. Dialogues entail a touch of the local language of Mathura and thus come out even more witty and hilarious. The film plays well with one-liners, whether it’s comic or emotional.
Positives of Movie The plot is the best thing about the movie. Other factors that might lead to the success of the movie are powerfully funny scenes, commercial treatment, and the performances of the cast. Undoubtedly, Ayushman takes all the responsibility on his shoulders and brings forth his female instincts quite distinctly. The movie is supposed to do well at the box office.
Negatives of Movie Taking the weak points of the movie into account, the narration is too quick, and a few songs seem unnecessary. The climax of the movie is not up to par. It could have been better.
Music Meet Bros and Tanishk Bagchi, who are known for delivering the best music in the Indian industry and are composing music for Dream Girl 2. Their music has always impressed the masses, and the collection of songs given in this movie contains the year’s best Bollywood dance numbers.
The song “Dil Ka Telephone 2.0” has already surpassed expectations and gained more than 18 Million views on YouTube. Two other songs, “Naach” and “Jamnapaar,” have a whopping 10 million views.
