Marriage is not a play of dolls, it is a matter of concern in India. In the Netflix series “Indian Matchmaking”, we see what expectations new-age Indian youth usually have from their life partner, and how difficult it is to find a suitable boy and a suitable girl or prince or princess of their dreams.
The Grand Indian wedding is a noteworthy event for the western world. And, Netflix’s new show “Indian Matchmaking” has become a topic of discussion in the world of OTT. Marriage in India is a bit complicated since it is a union of two families, rather than a personal affair of two people like it is in the west.
The groom’s tempers, the displeasure of a relative, the reception of the wedding and the rituals of stealing the groom’s shoes, to the tears of the bride’s farewell, make a wedding memorable in India. In the old days, pandits roamed from village to village to arrange marriages between two suitable candidates, but now matchmakers have appeared on the scene. From open offices in buildings to online skies, they are arranging meetings for young couples and their families.
