The Storyline of the Movie ‘My Name is Khan’ The film begins with the youth life of Rizwan Khan (Shah Rukh Khan), a Muslim man experiencing Asperger’s syndrome, a type of autism. Living with his widowed mother and brother in Mumbai, Rizwan was tutored by a reclusive scholar and needed extra attention. Quite a long while later, Rizwan’s sibling, who was presently living in San Francisco, invites Rizwan to come and live with them after their mother’s passing.
Rizwan leaves for San Francisco and begins working for his sibling Zakir (Jimmy Sheirgill). Rizwan soon meets a Hindu woman named Mandira (Kajol), and they both fall in love with each other. Both Mandira and her child Sameer (Yuvaan Makar), who she had from her past marriage, take up Rizwan’s last name after their marriage. The group of three lived joyfully for quite a while until the attack of 9/11 happened. The discrimination against Muslims led to Sameer’s death in a fight that was started by a bunch of white students. Mandira, after her child’s passing, faults Rizwan’s last name for the explanation of Sameer’s demise and wryly advises Rizwan to let the President of the United States know that his name is Khan and he is not a terrorist. Taking her seriously, Rizwan sets out to claim to everyone that his name is Khan and he is not a terrorist.
