Sayantan Mukherjee’s Ray is a Satyajit Ray-inspired anthology drama web series in the Hindi language available on Netflix. Vasan Bala, Abhishek Chaubey, and Srijit Mukherji are the series’ directors. Ajit Andhare, Tipping point, and Viacom18 Studios are responsible for producing it. Manoj Bajpayee, Ali Fazal, Harshvardhan Kapoor, and Kay Kay Menon play the key characters in the show. Ray: Storyline Omnibus drama Ray is comprised of four short tales created by Satyajit Ray, one among India’s most famous screenwriters. A few creative adjustments have been made to the programme even though all four cinematographic versions remain true to the stories’ basic plots.
Smritibhrom by Ray Bipin Chowdhury is the source for the first story, “Forget Me Not.” In it, Ali Fazal plays a wealthy businessman with an exceptional memory who meets a woman he seems to have no memories about.
The second episode, “Bahrupiya,” is a reworking of Bahurupi. It follows the absurd journey of Kay Kay Menon, a failed makeup artist, as he attempts to employ prosthetics to get revenge on those who have mistreated him.
A well-known singer (Manoj Bajpayee) and a former wrestler-turned-sports journalist (Gajraj Rao) meet while travelling by train in the third episode “Hungama Hai Kyon Barpa.” They become aware that they may have had a former connection as they converse. Ray’s Barin Bhowmick-er Byaram is the source for the narrative.
The fourth episode, “Spotlight,” is based on Ray’s short story of the same name. It details a well-known actor’s (Harsh Vardhan Kapoor) existential struggle after he meets renowned cult leader Didi (Radhika Madan).
