Shubh Mangal Savdhan – a refreshing story on common problems in men, staring Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar.
Shubh Mangal Saavdhan is Mudit and Sugandha’s love story revolving around erectile dysfunction. Bringing back Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar’s Jodi, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan was released in 2017; it talks about the issue of erectile dysfunction and the prejudices surrounding it in a comical yet impactful manner.
In the Storyline of The Movie ‘Shubh Mangal Savdhan’ Mudit likes Sugandha and follows her around their office complex, Sugandha also has a soft corner for him, and she also likes the stolen glances and eye contact. Mudit is extremely shy and couldn’t initiate a conversation with Sugandha.
Witnessing the plight of his friend, Duggal advises Mohit to take the technological route and send the marriage proposal via a matrimonial website. To Mohit and Sugandha’s delight, their families accept the proposal and are thankful for being saved from the hassle of finding partners for them.
One fine day, when Sugandha is alone at her home, the couple gets intimate, and just as they are about to have sex, Mohit realizes that he can’t get an erection. Because he fails to perform in bed, Mohit advises Sugandha to break off the engagement as he won’t be able to satisfy her sexually. Sugandha, however, tells him that life is beyond sex, she loves him, and she will marry him no matter what.
Wedding festivities begin, and in the midst of it all, Sugandha’s father learns of Mohit’s problem from their text messages which leads to the entire family becoming aware of Mohit’s ‘gents problem’.
The situation becomes chaotic as the blame game begins in the family, and both families advise them to call off the wedding. In the middle of this situation, making things worse, Sugandha finds Mohit in bed with his ex-girlfriend. It turns out to help Mohit; his friends set this up without his knowledge. What follows next is Mohit following Sugandha to convince her of his love and loyalty. The movie ends with a happy ending for the couple, with Mohit being able to get an erection on their wedding night.
