After M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story and 83 , Bollywood is ready for yet another biopic of the legendary cricketer Sourav Ganguly. Though the film was announced way back in 2021 no further updates were released. The movie is produced by Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg.
Earlier it was rumored that actor Ranbir Kapoor will be seen playing the role of Dada on screen when he collaborated with the cricketer for the promotion of his latest movie Tu Jhooti Mai Makkar. But since no official announcement was made fans were waiting for further updates.
Some sources have now confirmed that the makers are considering the versatile and multi-talented actor, Ayushmann Khurana, to play Dada on screen. Fans rejoiced with the news and took to social media to express their excitement. Fresh off his latest film An Action Hero , Ayushmann will soon be free after completing Dream Girl 2.
Superstar Rajnikanth’s daughter Aishwarya Rajnikanth will direct the movie after Vikramaditya Motwane left the director’s seat for some unknown reasons. The team has gathered all the necessary information from the cricketer and has completed the script-writing process. The shoot is said to begin by the end of the year.
It is said to be a film not just focusing on the former cricketer’s professional life but goes beyond his off-field life filled with fun and high-intensity emotions. Sources said “The script writing has already finished. The screenplay contains many unknown stories of life as well as many interesting incidents. The director wants to enrich the spice of entertainment in the film made on Sourav’s life to the audience, not just the recordings of the BCCI president. Lots of things have been recorded from his close associates also.”
Fans are eager for an official announcement regarding Ayushmann Khurana’s role in the much-awaited biopic. Meanwhile, the actor will be seen in the sequel of his hit film Dream Girl , which is set to hit the theatres on 25th August 2023.
