The Witcher is an adventure and fantasy drama based on a book of the same name written by Andrzej Sapokwski. The series is about Geralt of Rivia, Yennefer of Vengerburg and Princess Ciri also known as Princess Cirilla of Cintra (Allan). The series was created by Lauren Schmidt-Hissrich and later starred on Netflix.
The Witcher currently has 2 seasons. In September 2021, the series was renewed for Season 03.
The Witcher Overview The story revolves around 2 people Geralt and Ciri who are unknowingly linked with because he unintentionally asked for her as a reward from “the law of the surprise.” Later on when they both meet each other, Geralt becomes the princess protector. He also fights for her and protects her powers so that she can live safely.
The Witcher Season 1 Plot The Witcher is a monster hunter in a town full of monsters. Childrens who are given away are trained in many things like portion making, swordsmanship, hunting and more. To become a witcher, the person has to give a trial first. But the trial is so difficult and painful that most of the people die.
Other than that, the person is required to clear other trials too. The series begins when Geralt defeats Kikimora. Stregobor hires Geralt so that he can kill a young princess turned bandit Renfri. Geralt and other witchers obey the Stregobor orders. He tries to convince the women to leave the town.
But rather than leaving the town she tries to kill Stregobor and in the end Geralt kills her. Before dying she speaks her last words and informs him about a girl who is his destiny.
That girl is Ciri also known as Princess Cirilla of Cintra (Allan) who was sent away by her grandmother to escape because Nilfgaard, a very powerful empire, invaded the kingdom she used to live in. Her grandma tells her to find Geralt of Rivia. The invaders try to catch her but she releases some kind of powers.
As both the events show that Ciri and Geralt are somehow linked with each other. This happens because of the “Law of Surprise”. According to wiki , The Law of Surprise is a custom as old as humanity itself. The Law dictates that a man saved by another is expected to offer to his saviour a boon whose nature is unknown to one or both parties. In most cases, the boon takes the form of the saved man’s firstborn child, conceived or born without the father’s knowledge.
In the story, Ciri is a boon for Geralt. Nilfgaard starts a war which ends with the Battle of Sodden Hill. But the secret is there are elves. Elves generally hate human presence but they become friends with Ciri.
The story doesn’t end here. The main plot of the story is about a girl who was sold by his father. During season 1, Yennefer and Geralt interact so many times. At the end of the season, Yennefer fights against Nilfgaard and Geralt tries to search Ciri and ends up in prison.
He further runs away and on the other side Ciri loses her only friend Dara.
The Witcher Season 2 Plot The Witcher Season 2 released date was December 17, 2021. The Witcher Season 1 ends when Yennefer sets fire on the forest and she ends up defeating the Nilfgaardian army but after that Tissaia is unable to find her. She informs Geralt that they lost her. Furthermore, Geralt and Ciri meet each other and he decides to take her to a safe place, Kaer Morhen
Moreover, with the help of Vesemir and Triss, Ciri finds out about her mysterious magical powers.

Has Witcher Season 03 Cancelled? No, Witcher Season 03 is not cancelled. Season 03 got renewed by the team before Season 02 was aired. In 2021, The show maker, Hissrich told Tech Radar “ We’re almost done with the scripting phase, and it’s amazing. I’m really thrilled with how the season is shaping up because it’s based on my favourite book in the saga, which is The Time of Contempt.”
She further said that “ I feel like seasons 1 and 2 have been laying the playing field for everything huge that’s about to happen,” she added. “But the creative process is now really just starting. We have the scripts, and now we’ll bring directors on, the actors back in, and really start delving in deeper and reflecting back and making sure that it’s the perfect season. “
The Witcher Season 3 Plot In April 2022 the official account of Witchers shared a summary about the upcoming season.
“As monarchs, mages and beasts of the Continent compete to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri of Cintra into hiding, determined to protect his newly-reunited family against those who threaten to destroy it. When Was The Witcher Season 3 Renewed? In 2021, Netflix announced Season 03 during the Tudum event . According to Entertainment Weekly Lauren Schmidt Hissrich said that “We’re so excited to continue to grow this universe and cannot wait for you to join us on this ride.” Other than that on 24 September 2022, Netflix also posted on twitter about the upcoming Season 03.
The Witcher Cast On Upcoming Season 3 Joey Batey told Cosmopolitan UK that “All I know is that I’m incredibly excited to start it, really,” Yeah, we know some of the beats, and Lauren is guiding this ship with such kindness … And collaborative spirit. Yeah, we’re all kind of raring to go.”
Producer Lauren Schmidt Hissrich said, “Not only has work already started, the writers’ room is almost finished. Season three is really fun because it’s based on my favourite book on the series, which is the Time of Contempt. In fact, a lot of stuff that we’re doing in season two has really been the work of setting up that season. And there are huge things that happen. And a lot of people die. It is a big turning point, both for our series and storytelling, but also just in the Continent itself.”

New Cast of The Witcher Season 03 Netflix announced that 4 more people will be added to the cast for the upcoming Season. Robbie Amell as Gallatin, who will fight on the behalf of Nilfgaard, Meng’er Zhang as Milva, a human adopted by dryads , Hugh Skinner as Prince Radovid, younger brother of King Vizimir and Christelle Elwin as Mistle, who is a part of a teenager gang .
In July, Redanian Intelligence reported that six new people will be added in the cast of the upcoming season.
How Many Season Are There Of The Witcher Currently 2 seasons of The Witcher are streaming on Netflix and the third season will be aired soon. Makers are not in mood of stopping if everything go as per plan the witcher season 4 will be available for audience.

In an Interview, Declan De Barra said that “We were trying to understand what the world was like for elves right before the Conjunction of the Spheres. It’s very vague in the books as to what happened. I got out a whiteboard and sketched out this plan of what I thought: what elves wanted in this world and what the society was like pre-colonization. That kind of stuck.”
