Know the real story of “Bhagat Puran Singh,”- founder of Pingalwara- the world’s largest welfare organization for the specially-abled, poor, and needy.
“Eh Janam Tumhare Lekhe” is the story of a man who devoted his life to help people who were unable to help themselves, both physically and mentally. The struggle of a child born to a widowed woman is very tough, and this story tells us that in a beautiful tale. These struggles would make many give up any hopes, aspirations, and dreams. The child in the movie faces these struggles but is strong enough to overcome them and decides for the betterment of millions of people.
Puran Bhagat was handling various social battles, and problems now and then, and the movie demonstrated it very precisely and elegantly. The life of Puran Bhagat is, in fact, so well presented that it nearly feels like a documentary, which helps to pass a valuable message to humankind. Pavan Malhotra has done justice to the character of Bhagat ji, just like he did an excellent job in Tabbar and Punjab 1984 .
Storyline of the Punjabi Movie Eh Janam Tumhare Lekhe
The story starts with a highly moving song, ‘Arti,’ composed by Sant Rama Nand, and continues to portray the entire life of the humanitarian.
The story, at first, centers around the morals Puran Bhagat learned from his mother and the struggles she went through, which set the base foundation for his character of helping others. Later on in the story, it is also shown to us that Puran is a fervent environmentalist who fears destruction of the planet.
One famous dialogue people remember from this movie was, “From now on, I will see every woman as my mother,” said Puran Bhagat. Many other dialogues were quite popular because they showed the viewers that Puran wanted to help the ill and deprived people very much, the dialogue being, “I can’t let my patients die on roads. The least we can do is find a place for them so that they die with dignity.”
In the second half of the movie, the main theme centers around the understructure and workings of the house he ran for the specially-abled and sick people, which he named the Pingalwara. He decided to build the Pingalwara when the destitute and bedridden post-partition fugitives were hunted mercilessly and had no shelter to go into hiding.
