The Storyline of The Movie ‘Adithya Varma’
Adithya Varma is an all-rounder student, always tops his university, is socially active, and is a fantastic sportsperson; his only flaw is his short temper. The dean of his college and teachers often advise him to work on this problem of his, but to no avail.
Adithya gets into a brawl with the opposite team during an inter-college football match, yet he still manages to secure the trophy for his college. However, the dean is not impressed and gives him an ultimatum to either apologize or leave the college.
It didn’t take long for Adithya to make the decision to leave despite several attempts by his friends and teachers to stop him. However, what couldn’t be done by any of them was done when Adithya saw a beautiful, shy, and timid first-year student Meera Shetty. At once, he tore his suspension letter!
What follows next is Adithya’s attempts to woo Meera in his abrasive style. He enters her class with his friends and announces to all the boys that he loves Meera and warns them not to approach her as she is out of their zone.
Eventually, Meera starts to reciprocate Aditya’s feelings, and she starts adjusting to his dictatorial attitude. Their relationship goes through many phases and long distance is one of them when Adithya goes to Mussoorie to pursue his master, and their relationship only grows stronger with time.
Meera’s father comes as trouble in their paradise! He is strictly against their relationship and wants to marry Meera to someone from their caste. This doesn’t go well with Adithya and he demands Meera to take a stand and make a decision within six hours or never see his face again. Despite the hurdles at her home, she somehow managed to reach Aditya’s house, but by that time, he had injected morphine into himself and was unconscious for two days.
As expected, Meera’s parents get her married to the groom of their choice. Adithya gets to know about this after two days when he gains consciousness. He makes a desperate attempt to win her back by going to her house, but he is late as she is already married by then! Aditya’s father ostracised him from their home for damaging the family’s reputation.
With the help of his friend Parthi, Adithya begins his new life in a rented apartment and as a surgeon at a private hospital. His unsuccessful coping mechanisms include indulging in drugs and alcohol, one-night stands, and naming his pet dog Meera.
The story progresses further, and Adithya becomes a successful surgeon who is extremely loved by his patients but feared by the hospital staff. Once on the day of his leave, Adithya was called to the hospital for emergency surgery; he was unwilling to go as he was under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
He collapsed during the surgery, and traces of alcohol and cocaine were found in his blood sample. This led to a lawsuit against Adithya by the hospital chief; his medical license was canceled for five years. All hell breaks loose for Adithya when he learns of his beloved grandmother’s death the next day. In these sad times, the family unites, and Adithya promises his dad that he will give up on his bad habits.
His dad advised him to go on a vacation and begin his new life post his return. On the way, he sees pregnant Meera at a park, and somehow by just looking at her, he is convinced that she is unhappy in her marriage.
Will Adithya approach Meera, or will he keep the promise to his father and not look back at his past? Will Adithya and Meera have a happy ending? Watch the movie to find out!
