Badrinath Ki Dulhania- Storyline Badrinath also known as Badri Bansal is the youngest son of the Bansal family which is very rich. Badri’s brother Aloknath was in love with a girl and planned to marry her by running away from the family. Unfortunately his father gets to know about it and he suffers from a heart attack. Aloknath then marries another girl, Urmila, who is very intelligent but her in-laws don’t let her work as she is a girl.
Furthermore, Alok drinks daily as he misses his past girlfriend who he was not able to marry. On the other hand, Urmila suffers from other things too. Badri fears that the same things are going to happen with him also. One day he eventually falls in love with a girl named Vaidehi who is very beautiful and intelligent too. Badri plans to marry her with the permission of Ambar (his father)
Vaidehi, a young graduated girl, does not want to get married as she hates the idea of getting married. On the other hand, Badri has only passed matriculation. Well Vaidehi is uninterested because once upon a time she fell in love with a boy who fooled her and ran away with all her money.
Badri helps Vaidehi’s sister, Kritika. She soon finds her love and Badri even solves a dowry crisis. Later on, Vaidehi accepts Badri’s proposal and they both decide to marry each other. The plot twist comes when Vaidehi doesn’t appear on the day of marriage. Soon Badri and his family get to know that she ran away to Mumbai.
Irritated Ambar tells Badri to go to Mumbai and bring Vaidehi back as she deserves punishment. Badri goes to Mumbai and gets to know that Vaidehi has already left for Singapore for a flight attendant training programme. Badri arrives at Vaidehi’s house and kidnaps him.
Moreover, they get into a heated argument together while she apologises to him. Badri grabs her throat and the police see them. Even after so many explanations, police arrest Badri. Later on, Vaidehi gives her statement in favour of Badri. After a few days, Alok informs Badri that Ambar is looking for other brides which makes Badri anxious.
Furthermore, Vaidehi tells Badri that she will marry him but only on one condition. If Ambar permits her to work and live in Singapore. At night, Badri drinks so much and creates a scene outside Vaidehi’s house and gets caught again by the police. Vaidehi bails him out by paying $1500 as fine.
Badri shifts to Vaidehi’s apartment and they start spending time with each other but one day Ambar calls him and he lies that he’s not able to find Vaidehi. Ambar orders him to come back to Jhansi. Urmila gets pregnant and he arranges a pooja for him. Badri drinks so much and tells Ambar about his nature towards women. At the end, everything gets sorted out. Urmila gives birth to one girl and one boy. Ambar treats both the children equally while Badri- Vaidehi lives happily.
