Mela is an Indian Masala Film directed by Dharmesh Darshan. The movie was released in 2000 that stars Aamir Khan (Last seen in Lal Singh Chaddha ), Twinkle Khanna as the lead roles. The film is worth watching if your favourite genre is thriller and romance.
The movie is about a girl who is getting married soon. Her brother arranges a grand function in the village for her but everyone is unaware of the fact that terrorists are planning something.

The Storyline of the Movie Mela The only brother Ram Singh, a soldier, returns to Chandanpur village to arrange a marriage for his sister Roopa. A festival is arranged to celebrate Roopa’s happiness. Still, the village’s happiness is short-lived as many terrorists attack the village—the leader of the terrorist group, Gujjar murders a very big politician and gets distracted by Roopa’s beauty. He plans to escape with Roopa.
Ram comes to rescue his sister but gets murdered. His friend Gopal tries to rescue her but also gets killed by the terrorist. Roopa tries her best to accept the truth while Gujjar threatens her that she will only be his mistress. Roopa plans to commit suicide and jump into a waterfall as she doesn’t want to get married to a terrorist and a person who killed her brother.
Roopa survives and steals Kishan’s clothes who works as a theatre actor. Kishan works with his best friend Shankar who is a truck driver. After meeting Roopa, Kishan is smitten by her beautiful features and plans to make her the main character of his dance show while Shankar warns Kishan that the girl will cause trouble. Later on, she travels with them.
On an unfortunate day, she plans to run away but comes back as some terrorist follows her and his fiancee tries to rape her. Kishan plans to marry Roopa but gets heartbroken when here gets to know about the whole story. Shankar becomes her brother but Kishan is heartbroken. Furthermore, Shankar and Roopa go back to Chandrapur and set a trap for terrorists.
The plan backfires on them until Kishan reaches the village with a suspended cop. Later on, Kishan and Shankar are kidnapped but they fight with the terrorists. Kishan is badly injured so the villagers take a step and kill Gujjar’s men. Roopa is united by her brother and lover. She married Kishan and in the end, Shankar meets Champakali.
