Paani Ch Madhaani- The Storyline Paani Ch Madhaani means ‘Churning of Water’ and that is the name of Gippy Grewal and Neeru Bajwa starrer. The film is a retro drama set in the 1980s. A group of Punjabi musicians travels to London to make a mark. Gulli, played by Gippy Grewal, is a flop singer who along with his group always goes for shortcuts to get success.
The storyline seems a bit different from other Punjabi movies and focuses on a pretty fresh topic. We see the band has only one female singer, and other male band members start getting insecure about her success and try different ways to bring her down, but to no avail. Then, we see Gulli winning a lottery which is now lost and band members are trying their best to find it out. Lottery here acts as a metaphor for greed, and an escape from hard work. At the end, we see, they resort to their skills, and determination instead of relying on shortcuts.
The movie will keep you engaged throughout. Moreover, it has managed to deliver a social message with a good story nicely combined with emotions and comedy in it.
