1. Asur

Undoubtedly, one of the best web series, Asur is a crime thriller that will take you to its dark secret world. You will see the story unfolding in two timelines. 11 years ago, you will see a boy killing his own father during an initiation ceremony in Varanasi. Back to the present, you will see ex-CBI officer Nikhil (Barun Sobti) teaching forensics at a University in America. Everything turns upside down for him when he starts receiving pictures of corpses from an unknown number. This brings him back to be an investigation officer and he joins his coach DJ (Arshad Warsi) to untangle the mystery behind the serial killer, who calls himself Asur (Satan in Hindi).

The story has been set up in a village as the name suggests and revolves around an engineering graduate named Abhishek (Jitendra Kumar), who has joined as the secretary of the village Panchayat Chief. Majorly shot in Uttar Pradesh, Akhanda Tripathi aka Kaleen Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi) is the ruler of the lawless land who runs a carpet business to cover his involvement in illegal activities. His son Munna, (Divyendu Sharma), a power-hungry successor who wants to see himself as the controller of the town. Munna’s introduction to Guddu (Ali Fazal) and Bablu Pandit (Vikrant Massey) initiates the war; however, the duo, later on, joins Munna’s father’s business after Kaleen bhaiya notices their aggressiveness. However, this will not go well with Munna as he sees them as an obstacle in his way of obtaining power.

4. Rangbaaz

Rangbaaz is based on the life of the notorious criminal Shree Prakash Shukla; the name is changed to Shiv Prakash Shukla in the series. The story was set up in 1992, Shiv Prakash Shukla (Saqib Saleem) is shown as an innocent twenty-year-old happy boy. Things take a wrong turn when Shukla kills the eve teaser who harassed his sister. Ram Shankar Tiwari (Tigmanshu Dhulia), a local politician, tries to take full advantage of this situation and sends Shukla to Thailand to protect him from the arrest and get favors in return. The web series is all about how a simple boy turns into the most wanted man and a special mention for Saqib Saleem whose performance was one of the best of his career. You will not realize if you are watching an actor or the real gangster itself due to his terrific performance.
