Considered one of the beautiful Punjabi actresses – Wamiqa Gabbi is winning hearts with her performance in the drama series Jubilee . Wamiqa’s character, Nilofar has successfully left a mark on the audience by showcasing a story of an aspiring actress who succeeds in her career.
The series focuses on Indian cinema from the 40s and 50s and shares the struggles of aspiring actors from that era. While sharing about her experience Wamiqa revealed that she was initially rejected for the role.
Fursat movie heroine added it was Aparshakti Khurana (seen in popular movies such as Dangal , Luka Chuppi , Stree , etc) who made her message director, Vikramaditya Motwane. He then confirmed Wamiqa for the role as he thought she could carry the character of Nilofar. Later it was revealed that the reason for her getting rejected earlier was that she had an innocent vibe to her which is totally opposite to what the character requires.
Wamiqa’s character, Niloufer , is a heartbroken woman and a mistress who dreams of becoming a successful actress. She uses men to climb the stairs of success. Niloufer is not a negative character but a determined one who decides to change her fate at any cost.
The song ‘Babuji Bhole Bhale ,’ featuring Wamiqa, has received an overwhelming response. When asked about her inspiration behind the role, she said she watched many videos of veteran stars like Rekha and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
