The period action drama film ‘Asuran’ was released in 2019 and became commercially successful at the box office. Based on the novel Vekkai written by Poomani, this movie stars the talented actor Dhanush who has not only acted in various South Indian movies including Vaathi , Naane Varuven , Kutty , Karnan , Vada Chennai , and Thiruchitrambalam but in Bollywood movies as well such as Raanjhanaa and Atrangi Re .
This superhit movie won two awards—Best Feature Film in Tamil and Best Actor (Dhanush) at the 67th National Film Award. Additionally, it was screened at the 51st International Film Festival of India held in Goa. After the great success of this movie, it was remade in Telugu as Narappa in 2021 and was released on the well-known OTT platform, Amazon Prime Video.

The Storyline of Asuran The movie Asuran shows the story of a violent man Sivasaami played by Dhanush who has left his past behind and is currently living a new life as a farmer with his wife and children in Thekkoor. He has two sons named Teejay Arunasalam and Ken Karunas. The younger son is quite calm but the elder one is short-tempered like his father.
In their happy lives, the biggest turning point comes when Teejay Arunasalam crosses his path with a wealthy family from another village who wants to grab Sivasaami’s three-acre land, to build a cement factory. The situation ruins more when Teejay humiliates Narasimhan and later kills him brutally.
What will happen next? What does Sivasaami do to protect his family? Will he be able to save his son from the relatives of the landlord who are baying for his blood?
