Hulchul is a Bollywood adaptation of the 1991 Malayalam movie ‘Godfather’. The movie stars Akshaye Khanna and Kareena Kapoor Khan in the lead role.
Hulchul is a comedy romance movie released in 2004. The Bollywood movie is a remake of the Malayalam movie Godfather released in 1991.
The movie has a huge star cast and is directed by Priydrashan. Akshaye Khanna (recently seen in Drishyam 2 hottest actresses of Bollywood Kareena Kapoor are in the lead roles. The movie was a commercial success.
Hulchul is a story of vengeance between two families in a small town.
Angar Chand, played by Amrish Puri, lives with his wife, Parvati, and four sons: Balram, Kishan, Shakti, and Jai. The eldest sibling, Balram, falls in love with Dhamini and proposes to marry her.
Balram’s family supports the marriage, but despite Dhamini also having feelings for Balram, her family refuses the arrangement. During the wedding ceremony, Dhamini’s mother, Laxmi Devi, and two brothers try to stop the wedding by force and accidentally end up killing Parvati.

Eventually, Dhamini is married off to Kashinath Pathak against her will. Angar is enraged and decides to kill Dhamini’s father, Sanjeev. After the murder, Angar s sentenced to 14 years of jail.
When Angar returns after 14 years, he makes it a rule that no female is allowed in their household and refrains his sons from marrying.

Everything gets more complex when they realise that they actually love each other. Now they have to find ways to stay together despite the generational grudge between their families.
Jai finds out that his second eldest brother, Kishan, is secretly married to a dance teacher, Gopi, and has two children. Jai convinces Kishan to talk about it at home in hopes of getting to marry Anjali in the future. But their plan backfires, and both of them are kicked out of their home.
Laxmi arranges Anjali’s marriage with a lawyer and seeks help from Angar to make sure that Jai does not cause any chaos. But Jai makes a foolproof plan and enters the venue and dresses up as the groom.
Jai and Anjali get married as per the rituals, and Jai reveals himself at the end of the ceremony. Both Angar and Laxmi are furious and devastated by their children’s actions.
In the end, they decide to let go of all the grudges and happily welcome Gopi and Anjali into the family.
