If you are looking for a lively, easy-breezy watch with a talented star cast and amazing performance that will also make you laugh. then ‘Selfie’ should be added to your watchlist.
Selfie is the Bollywood version of the 2019 Malayalam movie Driving Licence. Starring Akshay Kumar , Emraan Hashmi (critically acclaimed for his performance in Hamari Adhuri Kahani ), Diana Penty, and Nushrratt Bharuccha (recently appeared in Ram Setu )as the main leads, Selfie depicts what happens when a superstar and his superfan turn into nemeses. Though the movie received a lukewarm response at the box office on the opening day and is Akshay Kumar’s lowest opening in a decade, it is expected to get a desirable kick-start over the weekend!
The Storyline of The Movie ‘Selfie’
If you are a mega movie star, are you entitled to be treated differently in the eyes of the law? No, right? But what if one of your favorite actors is demanding preferential treatment or tweaking of rules as per his/her convenience? Selfie is a story that is centered around this.
Vijay Kumar is a superstar who requires a driver’s license on an urgent basis before he leaves for America in one week. At Bhopal, where he is shooting for his film, he goes to get his work done, but a slight misunderstanding ruins things for him. He gets into an argument with the Motor Vehicle Inspector, Om Prakash Agarwal, which leads to things not working in his favor.
One of his biggest fans, Om Prakash Mishra, becomes his opponent and demands that the actor goes through the legal process to obtain his license like any other person. This process takes a month and Vijay has a week only. As the news of Vijay Kumar trying to mess with the legal procedures of obtaining a driver’s license spread among his fans, they felt extremely disappointed and let down by him.
What will Vijay do? Will he use his stardom and manage to secure the license within a week? or will he go by the legal route and not upset his fans?
