After a decade, Sooraj Pancholi heaved a sigh of relief as the court acquitted him of murder charges due to lack of evidence. After the verdict, Pancholi’s mother and actress, Zarina Wahab, thanked god. Sooraj Pancholi posted an Instagram story that read ‘The truth always wins’.
Rhea Chakraborty All the shocking revelations about Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide and sudden demise pointed fingers at the actor’s then-girlfriend and actress, Rhea Chakraborty. She reportedly spent 28 days in jail for allegedly being involved in a drug case. Rhea was charged under the narcotics act for the consumption, possession, and distribution of narcotics substances. She was bailed after a month.
Salman Khan The Bhaijaan of Bollywood
Sanjay Dutt Sanju Baba has had a rough time dealing with his court cases. He was sent to jail for having illegal possession of an AK-56 rifle around the time of the Babri Masjid riots. He was charged with an offense under section 5 of the Terrorist Disruptive Activities Act. The actor had claimed that it was merely for self-defense because the situation demanded. The actor was sentenced to jail from 2013-2016.
Monica Bedi Actress Monica Bedi faced court trials and was sentenced to jail for five years regarding a passport forgery case. She also had a relationship with gangster Abu Salem in the 90s. The actress stated that she was not aware of Abu Salem’s real identity as he had changed his name when they met. This was the most controversial relationship witnessed in Bollywood. Abu Salem is currently in jail, while Monica is in Mumbai, focusing on her career.
Shiney Ahuja Shiney Ahuja was charged with a serious allegation of rape by his 19-year-old domestic help in 2009. The Bhool Bhulaiyaa actor admitted that they had sex but that it was purely consensual. Later in the year, the victim went back on her testimony and made a statement that she was never raped. However, the court felt that the victim was threatened to back on her statement hence sentencing Shiney to seven years of prison.
Raj Kundra Businessman and husband of actress Shilpa Shetty, Raj Kundra, was arrested on 19 July 2021 for making pornography content in deluxe hotels and distributing the same through some apps for monetary gains. Raj Kundra claimed that he was falsely accused and was not aware of any of the activities mentioned in the FIR. He was granted bail in September on a surety of ₹50,000. Though now it seems like his troubles have passed away, it was one of the biggest controversies in Bollywood .
